Wie spricht man eigentlich Meade aus?

Alles falsch, es es wird MIED ausgesprochen (M, langes I, D). So oder ähnlich stand es mal in einem Meade-Katalog.

Jau, das wird einfach 'mied' ausgesprochen.

Der Typ von einem Astro-Shop in Wien sagt auch "MIED", wird also stimmen!

Übrigens: das "e" am Ende wird nie ausgesprochen. Nun gibt es einige Leute die tatsächliche "neik-i" sagen --&gt; ich komme aus New York und haben wir immer "NEIK" dazu gesagt.

Das "e" am Ende bestimmt in manchen Fällen wie das Zeug in der Mitte ausgesprochen wird. Beispiel:

"Meade" = "MIED" (Teleskophersteller und ein riesen Stausee am Hoover-Damm"
"Mead" = "MÄHD" (Honigwein)

Alles klar?

Nein - das hört sich nicht so an. Der feine Unterschied ist, dass das Englische Wort für Fleisch ja ein "T" am Ende hat. Das bewirkt gleichzeitig zwei Sachen:

1) erstmal das Offensichtliche: "T" und "D" sind völlig unterschiedliche Buchstaben. Es sei denn man kommt aus Franken - da gibt es den "weichen D" und den "hadden D". Also unabhängig von der Sprache müsste das Jedem schon klar sein, oder? D/T, P/B, N/M, etc. sind alle irgendwie ähnlich aber doch völlig unterschiedlich.

2) mit einem "T" am Ende wird das Wort "schneller", also abgehackter ausgesprochen. Das gibt's auch im Deutschen. Sagst Du "Spaaaaaaaasss" oder "Spaß"? "Meade" = "MIIIIID", "Meat" = "MIET".

Adobe wird in den USA am Ende auch mit i ausgesprochen.
Möglich das es in ONTARIO schon wieder anders ausgesprochen wird?

Die FAQ's von http://www.nike.com sehen das allerdings anders. Da es ein Firmenname ist, und somit nichts mit Linguistik zu tun hat sollte man es theoretisch so aussprechen wie es die primäre Intention der Firma ist:

Die Firma Vixen ist nach einer amerikanischen Weihnachtsgeschichte genannt. Dort heisst eines der Rentiere, welche den Schlitten von Santa Claus ziehen, so.
Falls es Englisch ausgesprochen wird, heisst es WIKSN, nicht WEIKSN. Vixen ist das englische Wort für Füchsin.
