"After all, it seems that there are few optical configurations capable of such performances to price ratio. Even a home-made Newton with small central obstruction would be penalized by the open tube that would render it more sensitive to the turbulence, while an apochromatic refractor would generate the dilemma of the purchase price. The combination between the comfortable configuration Newton and the extreme optical correctness of the Maksutov system, along with the presence of the meniscus correction lens and the absence of vanes used to support the secondary in a classic Newtonian has resulted in a winning combination for high resolution observations. The fifteen centimeters of diameter are, moreover, still small to take advantage of mountings from the approachable cost. For these reasons, under skies medium polluted and with medium yearly seeing the Intes Micro Mn 68 seems indeed an optimal choice."
