The following has been reported (courtesy of Aaron Price of the AAVSO:
D. Green, Central Bureau of Astronomical Telegrams (CBAT), reports on
the discovery of a possible nova in Cygnus by Hideo Nishimura on Tech Pan
films. It has been confirmed by Richard Miles (Golden Hill Observatory).
The following observations have been reported:
Date Magnitude Observer
March 23 <12 unfiltered photographic H. Nishimura
April 2.80667 10.5 unfiltered photographic H. Nishimura
April 4.9947 8.5 +/- 0.3 CCDV R. Miles (MXL)
Further accurate V photometry (untransformed) relative to Star 101 (V=10.06) is as follows:
April 05.0192 8.285
April 05.0231 8.285
April 05.0270 8.291
April 05.0310 8.289
Astrometry based on UCAC-2 yields the following precise position:
R.A. 21:11:32.34 Decl. +44:48:03.9 +/- 0.3 arc seconds
