This travel scope by THE DOBSON FACTORY, is available for 10" , 12" and 16" optiques.
The structure is made with high quality baltic birch aviation plywood, stiffer than usual plywood, which helps to obtain a very lightweight instrument.
Dimensions for the 12" version: 45x49x23 cm
Weight for the 12" version: 8 kg for the structure, 3 kg for a ligthweigt primary mirror, that is 11 kg all together.
Optics can be made by Astroreflect, Mirrosphère (France), or whatever maker you prefer.
This travel scope is available as a fully completed instrument, or as a kit to be assembled by yourself.
Price of the 12" completed structure (without optics) : 3060 €, including Moonlite focusser, and 8 carbone truss tubes (14 mm).
Price of the 12" kit structure (without optics) : 2100 €, including Moonlite focusser, and 8 carbone truss tubes (14 mm).

Here is a 12" fd 4,5 Ultra Light dobsonian telescope.
The structure weights 7,5 kg, and the optics 3,5 kg (made by Astroreflect, thickness 25 mm). The whole instrument weights 11 kg (22 pounds)
The structure can be fully dismantlled and transported in a travel bag.
This instrument is available immediately.
The structure, including a Moonlite focuser CR1, and 8 carbone 14 mm truss tubes, costs 3300 € plus shipping.
The Astroreflect optics cost 1240 € plus shipping.
You can obviously install your own optics, made by your favorite maker.

From now on, you can build yourself your "Dobson Factory" telescope with a kit!
Here is a 12 " fd 4,5 Travel scope, which you can order as a kit, and built in you living room, even if you never touched a piece of wood.
This telescope is similar to the many telescopes made by "The Dobson Factory" during the 10 last years, robust, stiff, accurate, with very smooth movements. The refined design is the result of all the experience accumulated during those years, in order to make it simple and efficient.
The telescope weights 17 kg, including optics, and the transportation box is 48x45x23 cm.
The kit is complete, including not only the wood pieces, but also all the accessories required for the building, stainless screws, rods and bolts, the 8 carbon trusses already cut at the right length, teflon pads, and a helicoidal focusser. It is possible to use a crayford focusser.
The wood pieces, which are cut very accurately with cnc machines, are assembled with dovetails and glue.
The complete kit, optics not included, costs 2100 € with a Moonlite focusser.
As for the optics, you can choose you favorite local maker, or order the optics proposed by The Dobson Factory (Mirrosphere, Astroreflect).
10" and 16" kits are also available.

Here is undoubtly the most advanced kit available for ATM'ers and people who want to make easily their own scope !
All pieces in birch plywood are precisely cut with CNC machines, and can be easily put together without special tools. All holes are pre-drilled for easy assembly.
The kit includes all necessary bolds, nuts, screws, as well as the laser cut alumium pieces for the mirror cell and spider.
All together there are more than 400 pieces in this kit.
It includes also 8 carbon truss tubes, 22 mm diameter, pre-cut at the right length and a Moonlite CR2 focuser (Starlight focuser available on demand).
The Construction Manual is fully detailled, 80 pages with 200 pictures.
You do not need any machine, you will not make any dust, and you can make it in your own living room !

Reginato macht nichts grösser als 900 mm. Ich versuche in den Dicken 60 bis 70 mm. Schott machte solchen Dicken früher (67 mm), aber nicht mehr Heute.

Hallo,
Ich versuche ein 1 meter Glass "Blank" (ja, das ist gross...). I dachte, dass Schott solche Dinge aus Supramax machte. Aber sie machen nicht grösser als 900 mm.
Vielleicht wissen Sie, wo ich solches Glass finden kann ?
