The European Space Agency and Russia had been set to join 2020’s busy year of launches to the red planet with a robotic rover. But Covid and other issues delayed the trip to 2022. After a journey of nearly 10 months, the rover, named for the English chemist who played a central role in discovering the structure of DNA, will attempt to make its landing on the Martian surface.
